MiamiCentral Station Construction Photos

MiamiCentral Construction

Construction is progressing at the MiamiCentral Station by All Aboard Florida in Miami since we last looked at the project in August

The 50 foot elevated platforms above street level are taking shape as the rail system will connect Miami with Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach and eventually Orlando. Over 1,300 pilings were used for the station going 100 feet into the ground to help support the tracks.

Designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill along with Zyscovich Architects, MiamiCentral will also have two residential towers: The South Tower at 33 floors and The North Tower at 30 floors with 800 rental apartments. At the Northern end of the station is the office Two MiamiCentral with over 190,000 square feet of space and 10 floors. On the Western side of the tracks, the under construction 3 MiamiCentral, has reached 12 floors. 3 MiamiCentral will have office and retail space along with 1,100 parking spaces. The base for the North and South Tower along with Two MiamiCentral are already taking shape. Full construction will not take place on these buildings until after the station is complete.

On the Southern portion of the station, plans call for One MiamiCentral, which will rise 1000 feet and have 250 hotel rooms and 280 residential units.

Service from Miami to West Palm Beach is expected to begin Summer 2017.
