Biscayne Bay Brewing To Open At Old U.S. Post Office and Courthouse Building In Downtown Miami
Biscayne Bay Brewing is opening a second location at the Old United States Post Office and Courthouse building at 100 NE 1st Ave in Downtown Miami, according to The Real Deal.
The 3 story United States Post Office and Courthouse building was built in 1917 by architect Oscar Renderoth in a neoclassical style, with an addition added later in 1937 designed by Kiehnel and Elliot when it was converted into the First Federal Savings and Loan Bank. The bank occupied the building until 1990. In 2013, the first two floors were occupied by the Miami Center for Architecture and Design after spending over $300,000 in renovations. The lease for the Miami Center for Architecture and Design ended at the end of last year.
Daniel Peña of Stambul Ventures purchased the 35,455 square foot building in June 2014 for $11 million.
