After being approved by Miami's Urban Development Review Board in October 2016, demolition has begun at the Maizon at Brickell site.

Located in West Brickell, currently being demolished are low rise apartment buildings that were built between 1948 and 1976.

Maizon at Brickell will be 24 stories and have 262 rental units.

After revealing plans in May of this year, Maizon has been recommended for approval from the Urban Development Review Board.

The 24 story Maizon is located in the ever changing West Brickell area and will have 262 rental units.

Maizon is being developed by ZOM, who also developing the under construction Solitair Brickell and Avant at Met Square in Downtown Miami. Maizon was designed by MSA Architects. 

Construction is expected to start first quarter 2017.

ZOM is planning to build a rental apartment in West Brickell called Maizon at Brickell on a 1.27 acre site on the corner of SW 12th St and SW 2nd Ave, according to The Next Miami. 

The building will have 262 rental units and will be designed by MSA Architects.

West Brickell has undergone a transformation of the past 5 years as many single family homes and low rise apartment complexes have been replaced by larger higher rises. 

Construction on Maizon at Brickell is expected to start first quarter 2017.
