Bayside Marketplace Renovations To Start Early 2015

According to Miami Today, Bayside Marketplace will undergo the first phase of renovations in early 2015 that will take eight months.

In August, voters approved to extend the lease for 99 years and require that Bayside Marketplace spend up to $35 million on renovations on the aging outdoor mall. Included in the agreement was the go ahead to allow SkyRise Miami to be built on land next to the Marina.

Formula E Race Coming To Miami In 2015

Racing is coming back to Downtown Miami since moving to Homestead in 1995. The FIA Formula E Miami ePRIX will be held on March 14, 2015 using electric cars.

The track will go down Biscayne Boulevard and around the American Airlines Arena.

The race will be 30 laps and include 11 drivers.

Miami's Signature Bridge To Be Funded By 2018

Miami Today is reporting that an I-395 bridge will be funded for 2018, although a completed design won't come until January 2015.

Miami commissioners came to an agreement with the State of Florida for the bridge going over Biscayne Boulevard separating Park West and the Arts & Entertainment district. 

The project is estimated to cost between $500 - $600 million and will include 1.4 miles of road.

Formally known as Montage at Met 3, the building is now called Monarc at Met 3 to avoid confusion with a hotel named Montage.

Construction is pacing quickly since our last update with metal outlining covering the parking garage space.

Downtown Miami will have its first Whole Foods on the ground level of the building, which will open before the end of the year. The Whole Foods will be open while construction continues on the rest of the project. 

The project is being developed by ZOM, Inc and the architect is Nichols, Brosch, Wurst & Wolfe.

Dismantling Begins At BP Gas Station For One Thousand Museum

After a lawsuit held up the sale of the BP gas station at 1000 Biscayne Boulevard, this station is now starting to get dismantled according to exMiami. 

Groundbreaking will start during this years Art Basel and will be hosted by the architect Zaha Hadid.

After breaking ground in June of this year, Melo Group's Melody Tower is ready to rise after getting approval from the FAA. 

The 36 floor residential condo will have 497 units and 8,500 square feet in commercial retail space. 

The site is located in the Arts and Entertainment district of Miami and sits on the same block as the property just purchased by The Related Group last week.

Melo Group's Flagler on the River just recently completed construction and Aria on the Bay will be starting construction in early 2015.

According to Melo Group's website the project will be completed by May 2015.

Since our last update in July, Centro is rising vertically in Downtown Miami. Workers are starting on the 4th floor of the 36 story tower.

Centro will not have a parking garage, but residents will have advantage of close proximity to the metrorail, metromover and the use of the CitiBikes that are coming to Downtown next month.
