Located in the Arts and Entertainment district in Miami Melody Tower by Melo Group is now going vertical. 

Since our last update, two cranes have been added to the site, which will rise 36 floors and have 497 residential units.

Just a few blocks West, Melo Group recently bought land for $16 million, but have not announced what they plan to do with it yet.

East Coast Building On The Miami River At Halfway Mark

After starting construction in July 2014, the East Coast Building is already at the halfway mark of its 9 story height. 

Located on the Miami River next to Flagler on the River, the building will be mixed use that will include a rooftop restaurant. 

Across the street will be the second phase of Flagler on the River on the old East Coast Fisheries site.

General Growth Properties Hires Zyscovich Architects To Redesign Bayside Marketplace

General Growth Properties has hired Zyscovich Architects to redesign the aging Bayside Marketplace in Downtown Miami. 

The renovation will include the retail and waterfront areas, along with adding two new levels of parking. SkyRise Miami will also be built next to the Bayside Marina.

Bayside Marketplace recently received a $250 million mortgage that will be used towards the renovations and expansion.

After months of slowly dismantling the Miami Herald building and beginning the official demolition in April 2014, the building is almost completely torn down.

The Northern piece of the building is all that remains and should be fully down by the end of January.

So far, there are no plans for construction in the foreseeable future. Getting has been quiet on the since gambling failed to become legalized. The Miami Herald reports that Miami Tomás Regaledo has not heard from Genting in months and they have not submitted any plans.

Since buying the 14 acre site for $236 million there have been speculation that Genting plans to sell the site, especially for the demand of land on the waterfront

Auberge Residences & Spa Coming to 1400 Biscayne Boulevard

After purchasing property at 1400 Biscayne Boulevard for $57.3 million, Related Group has added a sign to the property indicating that they plan to build an Auberge Residences and Spa on the site. 

The tower will be 60 stories and be designed by Arquitectonica. 

Construction will start by the end of the year.

World Trade Center of the Americas Proposed For Biscayne Boulevard

ITC Center Miami and BH Downtown Miami have submitted plans for a 77 story tower called World Trade Centre of the Americas on Biscayne Boulevard. 

The architect of the project is Arquitectonica and the highest point would reach 953 feet.

The Holiday Inn and building next to it would be demolished to make way for the tower.

Giant Ferris Wheel Proposed Next To American Airlines Arena

Miami company, Caribe-Miami Corp., headed by Rigoberto Valdes, are trying to build a large 650 foot ferris wheel in Downtown Miami, according to the Miami Herald

The proposed ferris wheel - called "Eye on the Bay" - would be located next to the American Airlines Arena and next to Museum Park over the FEC boat slip. 

The $350 million ferris wheel would have a restaurant, bar with retail shops in the walkway below the structure. However, the company would need permission from the city to build over public land.
