Faena Forum Along Collins Avenue

As part of the Faena District spanning along Collins Avenue from 32nd to 36th street, Faena Forum is now open along with Faena Bazaar and Faena Park. Faena House and Faena Hotel were completed last year. We last   looked at the Faena Forum in August to show a night perspective of the building.

Faena Forum is a 42,565 square foot building designed for the arts, which will include lectures, events and performances. The cylinder like building was designed by Rem Koolhaas of OMA, who also designed the under construction Park Grove in Coconut Grove.

Also open is Faena Bazaar, which will have retail space and Faena Park, a four story automated garage for 235 spaces.

The last building that needs to be completed in the Faena District is the Faena Versailles Classic, which has been put on hold and is now covered with a red draping.

Park Grove Rising Taller

When we last looked at Park Grove in July, construction was just starting to go vertical on the project located in Coconut Grove.

The Club Residences, located on the North end of the property has reached the 6th floor. Two Park Grove, the middle tower has also reached the 6th floor which will top out at 20 stories.

Construction is also progressing on the new Coconut Grove Bank and is scheduled to open first quarter 2017. As soon as the new Coconut Grove Bank is completed, the current Coconut Grove Bank on the property will be demolished and construction will begin on One Park Grove. On top of the new Coconut Grove Bank, construction has already started on the amenities deck of Park Grove which will feature 4 pools, private cabanas and a signature restaurant by Michael Schwartz.

Two Park Grove Is Going Vertical

Construction on Park Grove

Construction on Park Grove

After starting construction a year ago, Two Park Grove is starting to go vertical in Coconut Grove.

In May of this year, the foundation pour took place where 860 tons of steel and 2,600 cubic yards of concrete was poured at Two Park Grove. The foundation pour will support the tower columns of Two Park Grove.

Park Grove is being developed by Terra Group and The Related Group. The project was designed by OMA and is their first residential project in the United States. OMA sourced inspiration from Florida’s barrier islands ideally stacked one on top to resemble the vertical shape of Coconut Palm Trees to create this striking façade. The project’s exterior allows daylight into the units while benefitting from Coconut Grove’s lush greenery and cool breezes from Biscayne Bay.

Since we last looked at the $1 billion Faena District between 32nd and 35th Collins Avenue on Miami Beach in October 2015, Faena House and Faena Hotel have opened.

At the front of Faena House, designed by architect Foster + Partners, is a sculpture by artist Jeff Koons called "Coloring Book." The penthouse at Faena House was sold for a record $60 million, but has since been put on the market for an asking price of $73 million.
