A Look Inside The Completed Surf Club Four Seasons Hotel and Residences

Originally opened in 1930 and founded by Harvey Firestone, the Surf Club was designed by architect Russell Pancoast as a Mediterranean style villa located in Surfside, Florida. Over the years it was attended by the likes of Elizabeth Taylor, Winston Churchill and Frank Sinatra.

The property was purchased by Fort Capital in 2012 and transformed into three glass towers surrounded by the original restored clubhouse on 9 acres of property. There are two 12 story residential towers, the North Tower and South Tower, plus a Four Seasons Hotel with 80 rooms. The North Tower is expected to open next month while the South Tower is expected to open in sometime in August/September. The Four Seasons Hotel officially opened in March of this year.

A Look At Herzog & de Meuron's Jade Signature

The Herzog & de Meuron Designed Jade Signature

The Herzog & de Meuron Designed Jade Signature

The Pritzker Prize winning Herzog & de Meuron's designed Jade Signature in Sunny Isles Beach is nearing completion and had $51 million in sales for the first quarter of 2017.

“Now that Jade Signature is nearing completion, buyers can truly understand the high-quality work that our design team produces. They can tour the expansive spaces from their home in New York or on their vacation in Europe using our virtual reality app, and achieving that sense of place is key to our sales efforts,” said Edgardo Defortuna, President and CEO of Fortune International Group. “It’s important to us that buyers are able to imagine their lives in Miami, and I am proud to say that we are accomplishing just that.”

Sales from this quarter came from Brazil, Argentina, South Africa, Mexico and New York. Three residences, including two double-height Sky Villas listed at $14.2 million each, were sold to New Yorkers as result of Jade Signature’s presence in Manhattan, a lucrative market for second-home buyers. Jade Signature is slated for completion toward the end of the year with only a handful of residences left.

Currently available is a selection of three- to five- bedroom residences as well as a few listings within “The Collection,” including two-story Sky Villas and the upper and lower Penthouses. Homes range from 1,378 to 11,661 square feet and are priced from $2.175 million to $32.9 million.

Since we last looked in January, the crane has been removed from the 57 story building and most of the exterior has been painted. Work is being done on the interiors by design firm PYR by Pierre-Yves Rochon and the outdoor spaces by landscape architect Raymond Jungles. The slight angle of the tower towards the North was designed to maximize the amount of sun during the afternoon.

Construction is expected to be completed by October/November of this year.

One Thousand Museum Reaches The 38th Floor Of Construction

One Thousand Museum Reaches The 38th Floor Of Construction

When we last looked at the under construction One Thousand Museum on 1000 Biscayne Boulevard, the building was on the 31st floor. Construction has now reached the 38th floor of the 62 story tower.

A year ago, the base of the building was starting to take shape on the Pritzker Prize winning architect Zaha Hadid designed tower.

One of the unique features of One Thousand Museum is the exoskeleton, which supports the building. The exoskeleton is made of over 3,000 pieces of glass fiber reinforced concrete, which is made in Dubai and shipped to Miami every week. The panels are clamped around the steel rebar and poured with concrete to the give the exoskeleton a continuous flow.

Fairwind Hotel Miami Beach

Fairwind Hotel Miami Beach

The Fairwind Hotel is getting closer to completion, but no timetable has been set for the opening.

The 28,5000 square foot lot and three buildings were purchased for $14.5 million in 2012 by The Chetrit Group and renovations began in the Fall of 2014. The new designs by Shulman + Associates has the restoration of the existing three buildings and a new five story building at the rear of the property. There will be a swimming pool on the roof of the new building, plus a courtyard with a water fountain at the front. An underground bar, 15 feet below sea level will open in the bottom of the new building.

The original two structures were built in 1936 by architect L. Murray Dixon and the third building was later built in 1955.
