YotelPad Miami Construction
Construction has started at the 31 story, 341 foot YotelPad Miami which will have 231 residential units and 222 hotel rooms.
YotelPad is being designed by Stantec and developed by Aria Development Group and Kuwait’s Aqarat.
Units range from 417 to 708 square feet and is expected to be completed in 2021.
Centro Construction Site
TBT (October 13, 2014) - 5 years ago the 36 story condo Centro was under construction and on the 4th floor. Centro eventually opened in May 2016 in Downtown Miami.
Since our last update in July, Centro is rising vertically in Downtown Miami. Workers are starting on the 4th floor of the 36 story tower.
Centro will not have a parking garage, but residents will have advantage of close proximity to the metrorail, metromover and the use of the CitiBikes that are coming to Downtown next month.
Grand Station Construction
Construction has started on the 31 story Grand Station at 240 North Miami Avenue in Downtown Miami.
A crane has been installed on the site and work is getting started for a foundation pour.
Grand Station was designed by Zyscovich Architects and will have 300 apartments.
Miami Plaza Construction
The 35 story Miami Plaza in the Arts & Entertainment district is rising quickly and has reached the 26th floor and 9 floors away from topping off.
We we last looked at the building at the end of July, construction was on the 11th floor and started going vertical in April.
Developed by Melo Group, Miami Plaza will have 425 rental units.

Harry Cain Tower in Downtown Miami
The 15 story Harry Cain Tower located at 490 NE 2nd Avenue will be closing due water leaks, mold and abestos, according to the Miami Herald.
Miami-Dade College is looking to purchase the building for student housing along with the neighboring fire station. The lot size is 22,430 square feet.
The site can be zoned for a building higher than 15 stories.
Langford Hotel in Downtown Miami
The 12 story Langford Hotel located at 121 SE 1st Street in Downtown Miami has been sold for $37 million, according to The Real Deal.
The hotel, built in 1925 was sold by Stambul and purchased by Hotusa Hotels. Stambul purchased the building in 2013 for $2.7 million and spent two years renovating the structure.
Stambul purchased a building a 200 East Flagler for $19.75 million in July 2018 and purchased the old U.S. Post Office and Courthouse Building for $11 million in June 2014.
Island Bay Rendering
Two twin 60 story towers called Island Bay located at 700 NE 24th St in Edgewater have been proposed.
The towers rising 648 feet will be developed by Melo Group and designed by Arquitectonica with 783 residential units.
Island Bay is located next to Biscayne Bay and the under construction Elysee, also designed by Arquitectonica.
There will be a 50 foot set back from the water to create a public walking space along the bay.
